The DSG STARS program serves teens with Down syndrome between the ages of 12-18. Our goal is to help them build strong friendships while learning social, life and pre-vocational skills.  Volunteers MUST BE 17 or older to help with the following events: 

• Fri.  July 1, 1to 4pm- Fun Run, indoor activities: 5 volunteers
• Fri. July 15, 1 to 4pm – Steamboat Arabia tour: 5 volunteers
• Tues, July 19, 1 to 4pm – Northland Movie Day: 5 volunteers
• Fri, July 22, 9 to noon – Fun at Merriam Park: 5 volunteers
• Tues, July 26, 9 to noon – Ernie Miller Park: 5 volunteers
• Fri, July 29, 9 to Noon – Job tour with AMC: 5 volunteers
• Wed, August 17 - 6 to 8pm, Kickball: 5 volunteers
• Sat, August 20 -11:30 to 1pm, Zona Rosa: 3 volunteers
• Wed,gust 24 - 6 to 8pm, Cooking Class: 7 volunteers
• Wed, August 31- 6 to 8pm, Movie Making Class: 3 volunteers

DSG is one of the beneficiaries of the upcoming Overland Park Rotary Club Star Spangled Spectacular on July 4th at Corporate Woods. Watch a video to learn more about this family friendly fireworks galore  event. We need 10 volunteers to work during the following shifts.

Children’s Play Area
Provide adult supervision to the children’s play area, and ensure all children have a fun, happy, and safe experience while visiting this venue. This venue is also expected to include an Arcade for older children. Ensure that everyone has a fair opportunity to enjoy the arcade games, takes turns, and remains properly behaved on premise. 

Shifts available: 4:00 pm – 6:45pm and/or 6:45pm – 8:00pm

Rotary Ambassadors
Distribute programs throughout the entire audience, and collect donations via donation jars.

Shifts available: 6:00 pm – 7:30pm and/or 7:00pm – 8:45pm

DSG is taking some adults with Down syndrome out for a fun night of bowling on Friday, July 15, 6 to 8:30pm at Mission Bowl. We need 7 volunteers (18 and older please) to join us on the lanes. Contact DSG to sign up today!
